Frequently Asked Questions

How do I organise a commission?

If you would like a pastel portrait/pawtrait of your pet, please visit my store and go to the pet portrait section. There is an option to buy a gift voucher for someone else, or to book a space for yourself.

If you'd like to book an oil painting commission, please contact me directly to discuss your requirements, timeline, and organise a quote.

All commissions require a 30% non-refundable deposit.

What are your timelines like?

My availability varies!

Pastel portraits usually take about 3 weeks but it depends what else I have on and how busy I am. The best way to keep up to date on my availability is to join my email list or follow me on social media.

What images do you need to complete a commission?

My favourite photos to work off are the ones which show your pets character. The more character captured in the photo - the more fun I have!

The images also need to be relatively clear and not too blurry.

If the image is over exposed and does not show the true colour of your pet, please let me know at time of booking - I can adjust colour/tone and lighting to suit, but I need to be made aware.

I'm more than happy for you to send me a selection of images and I can have a look and discuss with you what I think would work best.

What is your return policy?

Anything damaged in transit I can replace or repair. Commissions cannot be returned. Please do feel free to reach out to me to discuss your problems in confidence though - I am happy to work with you on issues that arise.

How long does framing take if I select that option?

So long my supplier has the required items in stock, it should only take two weeks maximum. If there are stock issues I will be in touch!

What are shipping time frames?

Domestic is usually over night for North Island and a few days for South Island, but I can provide an over night service to the South Island at an additional charge.

Please note that my shipping cut off is midday, so if your order comes through after 12pm your order will not ship until the following day.

Do you ship internationally?

My goal is to eventually offer this option, but currently I am focusing on the NZ market.

If you're overseas and something interests you please do contact me and I will see what I can do for you.

Can I buy the rights to your art?

No - all rights of my art remains with me. Commissions are still under my copyright and cannot be recreated in any form without written permission. Digital rights are not available.

Is everything hand signed?

Yes - all my art and prints you are purchasing from me directly, and I will sign and number everything personally.

What does it mean when you say a print is "hand gilded"?

Some of my collections include metallic gilded paint in the art, and I recreate this by hand on all of my prints if a collection features this.

What does it mean when you say a print is "limited run"?

I only do a very limited amount of print runs for each collection. When they sell out, they are sold out and will not be coming back. Most of my print runs are under 20 prints. All prints are numbered accordingly.
